New appointment

When a new appointment is made at a school, the new position must be created.
A new position must be created for:

  • an employee who is new to the school
  • a current employee who is starting a new job or an additional job at the school.

Only the Education Payroll Service Centre can create appointment records, once the record is set up in EdPay the school can modify some details.


If possible, send any required forms to the employee with their appointment letter. Include a covering letter that explains what to complete, and provide a timeframe for them to return the forms to ensure that their pay will be accurate on their first payday. See the Payroll calendar to determine the cut-off date for instructions in their first pay period.
