EdPay End of Year a success
This year’s EdPay EOY process went very smoothly, with feedback telling us that schools found it much easier to complete. Our recent customer survey showed a 95% satisfaction rate overall, including 38% of the 532 respondees reporting that they were extremely satisfied. Overall feedback has been very positive, with one of our survey respondents saying: “The end of year process was great this year – can’t think of any improvements. Way easier than Novopay Online. Loving EdPay!”
EdPay Start of Year 2022 going smoothly
We’ve had a high level of uptake and positive feedback about the EdPay Start of Year (SoY) process. On the day SoY opened, Lynne, a payroll admin from one of our Wellington schools, told us "SoY DONE AND DUSTED!! Can’t believe it, very smooth".
SoY 2022 closes on 25 February at 5pm. For everything you need to know, check out our website

Key dates and things to know for Pay Period 20
The forms cut-off for Pay Period 20 is 15 December, instead of 20 December. There is only one draft SUE report on 21 December, which will include termination pay.
The final SUE report will be on 23 December and there are no stop pays due to statutory holidays.
The pay day for Pay Period 20 will be 24 December instead of 29 December.
Our hours over the break
Our School Account Team will be answering the phones during the normal phone hours (9.30am – 3.30pm) over the break on all weekdays that are not national public holidays (29–31 December,) and will be back to normal from 5 January onwards.
Reminder: Timesheet-only employees and public holidays
Timesheet-only employees who are eligible for public holidays (Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and the day after New Year’s Day) will be paid these in pay period 20, based on their timesheets paid in Pay Period 18 and Pay Period 19. This is the only time we automatically pay public holidays to these employees
ACC claims
For employees who will be on ACC leave during Term 4 holidays:
- if they are still unfit to return to work throughout the holidays, they should ensure they continuously provide ACC with a Medical Certificate
- if they are receiving weekly compensation directly from ACC and will also receive holiday pay from the schools' payroll in pay period 19/20, they need to inform ACC about these payments
- if they are a 52-week employee who is still on ACC leave, the school will need to continue to submit a NOVO12acc leave booking form (PDF).
For information about ACC claims for employees, please visit our ACC page [Novopay website].
