New pay rates will be paid for two agreements

Employees who have signed either the Specialist Residential Schools’ Collective Agreement, or the Foreign Language Assistant 2022 Individual Employment Agreement (IEA) will be paid on their new pay rates as per these agreements from pay period 4.

You'll see the new rates and any back pay due in pay period 4, 1st SUE report on 12 May, with the pay day on 16 May 2023.

Specialist residential school lump sum payments

Each full-time employee who was a member of the NZ Public Service Association (PSA) on 11 December 2022 will be paid a one-off payment of $750.00 gross, pro-rated for part-time employees and casual employees.  There’s more information on the Ministry of Education’s website: Specialist Residential Schools’ Collective Agreement – Additional payments

If specialist residential school employees have signed the new IEA, you can use the IEA change screen in EdPay to enter the date they signed the new IEA, (the screen has replaced the IEA pay change form EP22 for some agreements). We will begin to process these from pay period 4 and pay rates will be backdated to the date they signed.
